Sue Pedley guides you through daily exploratory drawing exercises about everyday life, objects, people, textiles, nature, & celebrations in rural Bali through excursions to local cultural precincts such as weaving workshop, markets and traditional performances with walks to local stone carved temples and rice fields. Sue then assists you in incorporating a wide range of textured mark making processes such as staining, binding, coiling, twining & sewing to create a variety of mixed-media works encouraging use of various materials such as paper, plant fibre, cloth and threads in the construction of drawings, dyed fabrics and created objects. The workshop offers diverse sensory experiences as stimulation. There will also be a motivating talk about Indonesian textiles with a local expert.
